EV-05-03: Yodelling Cowboy

Wilf Carter, aka Montana Slim, was born December 18, 1904 in Port Hilford, Nova Scotia. Inspired by a travelling yodeller, young Wilf began singing and soon discovered his own unique "three-in-one" or "echo" yodelling technique.

On a trip to Montreal, Carter auditioned for RCA, singing his original composition, "My Swiss Moonlight Lullaby".
Some time later, while back on the trail rides of the Canadian Pacific Railway, Carter discovered his audition had been released as a single.

In 1933 the song became a huge hit.
